Voice as a biomarker for neurodegenerative diseases: machine learning and neuroscience in one PhD

Many of us researchers are enticed by the idea of working in data science. More and more new opportunities are cropping up for applying our hard-earned scientific knowledge to problems that people are willing to pay to solve. Pascal Hecker, a former Neuroscience student from Göttingen, talks about his journey from academia to industry to a combination of both at audEERING - a company that uses machine learning to dissect voice patterns as markers for neurodegenerative diseases.
